Stuck

I'm going on week 5 on the diet and down 22lbs but I've been bouncing between 180 and 186 for 3 days now. I have been falling short on carb macros daily...fats are a few grams +/- daily...proteins are pretty much over daily by 5 or 6 grams. Ive tried fasting too but i haven't been successful bc I get bad cravings and end up eating some avocado or almonds late night.

So I guess should I just be patient or try something different? I thought I was doing good but I'm still hungry a lot even though I'm making sure to eat carb free

  • Hi Wolfie,

I was stuck at one weight level for nearly 3 weeks and almost quit.  Sometimes it takes longer to become fully "keto-adapted".  I was surprised that it was almost 6 weeks until I was in the groove. I too found myself getting hungry and frustrated.

I took a look at everything I was doing to see if I was following the plan exactly as I should.  This meant, my macros needed to be on target everyday. I started measuring everything and stepped up my daily walks to be about a mile longer.  This really helped with my hunger as did making sure I was drinking enough water to stay hydrated. I started calculating my actual calorie deficit each day and use a Fitbit to calculate my burned calories.  Lastly, I started measuring my ketones to make sure I was in ketosis.

It paid off because as soon as I started doing all of these things, I began to see results on the scale.  In one month I've lost 8 lbs - all fat.  You can do this!!!

Interesting. It could be good to search the Diet Doctor channel on Youtube, along with channels such as Low Carb Down Under. Also Dr. Westman’s Adapt Your Life channel (or something like that).
