What am I Not doing?
Hello, I've been doing keto for about 4 mo. I lost 20 lbs in the first two months then hit a plateau. A two month long plateau. Then I found this app to help me keep track of my eating and exercise. I eat about 1750 cals a day keeping it 22 carbs and under, and I do an hour of high impact Zumba 4-5 days a week. App says I'm burning 1500 cals a day. Why am I not losing weight?!?! It's been a couple weeks and I haven't lost a pound. Stayed the same the whole time. Help?

Wow I hear you here ! Think this has happened to just about everybody. Wondering if you’re checking your ketone status. If you’re testing positive for ketones and this is happening, will have to think about just why. High fat diet with any added carbs beyond usually 20-25 net per day can put a real hold on progress. And carbs are so sneaky, they could slip in without us knowing anything. Howz your ketone status when you test ?

You could try playing with carb ups in the evening. Zumba from what is hear can be intense. More fat little less protein maybe? At this point it may be a stall and just keep working through it. It's only been a few weeks. Try a few things to tweak the metabolism subtly and see if that breaks it. Could try suggestions to break through a stall also. They are all over the Internet.

I missread perhaps. If you have been doing Zumba a few weeks , I'm going to guess that your building some muscle. You may not see anything on the scale but toning up in the legs etc. depending the intensity you may even see the jeans or slacks fit tighter, at first. If your feeling great just keep the regime up a few months. See what happens ?

kirstenvick yes. That it. Season the meat to your liking. Choking it down second day isn't the easiest but it worked for me. I prob won't be on much here as I am finding a lot of ketogenic so called followers just haven't done any real research and it's completely annoying watching this miss information floating around this forum. It was fun and exciting at first but now it's literally irritating me and making me want to eat bad things. Good luck though. Keto works. If you know what your doing.

badmojomn please please don’t disappear! The reason I started the self education thread was because I was losing energy replying to the same questions over & over with some just ‘trying’ this on the next whim of whatever..... intelligent questions do come through, ones from people that want to educate themselves on Keto ~ and live it. You so kindly helped me out and I went deeper into learning because of that, still so much to learn. I live 100% Keto we need to stick together, just ignore the posts that are winding you up and stay true to Keto you mean a lot to me and I won’t be the only one. If new ones come along and all they have to read is weak they have no chance & this App will die off.
We need a ‘section on each diet type’ to put a bit of separation rather than have it all clumped together. I have no problem with anyone doing anything if they have done some reasearch & it works for them but sharing what they do ought to come with cautions about how this is adapted just for their personal preference. Keto Clarity by Jimmy Moore might be good reading for some!

A similar thing happened to me. My trainer explained that my body was going into “starvation mode” and storing fat because I was working out so hard. His solution, which sounded insane, was I needed to eat more. He suggested eating much more lean protein. I did. I ate several chicken breast and egg whites a day. It worked perfectly! As soon as I started giving my body more fuel the weight fell off. You are exercising so hard your body may just need more fuel before it is willing to released the stored fuel. Lean proteins. Lots of them.
