Hi! I’m new. Today is my first day! How do I know how many net carbs to give myself ?

    Look for the “Getting Started” tab.  On my iPad it’s on the left side almost at the bottom.  It guides you through the process of your height, current weight, how fast you want to lose, what diet plan you’re going to follow, etc.  At the end of page 3, it has a button to calculate your macros:  carb, fat, protein.  

    Once you’ve completed this step, go to Daily Foods and enter everything you put into your mouth that day, by actual brand if possible.  Measure the amounts.  No guessing.  Track each entry as it affects your macros.  You can see how many grams of carb, fat, and protein you’ve eaten, and if you click on  the bar, how much is left for the day.  Stay within your carb and calorie limits.

    I’m following the 70 % fat/25 % protein/5 % carb version.  With my weight loss goals, I only get 15 g of net carb per day.  

    As you lose weight, you will need to recalculate your macros weekly, unless you have the Premium version.  They get smaller as you get smaller :)

    I’ve lost 21 pounds in 5 weeks.  It takes time to enter recipes, and measure food, but it’s worth it.

    I think you should ease into it...since you are a newbie, maybe set Net Carbs at 50 then go down depending on how you feel and your results down the road. Also depends on your stats, age, medications, health, etc...

     

    First few weeks perhaps concentrate more on being under the Net Carbs than calories then slowly restrict to your macros' directive. Drink plenty of fluids, electrolytes, etc.
