What the real number for carbs?

I’m just starting out and I’m confused about what number to watch for on carbs. Should I just keep total net carbs under my 10% number or just the “net” carbs need to stay under that?

  • We are all different, our goals, our exercise and our body. I can only say from research and experience keep it to 20g total carbs per day, you maybe able to tolerate a few more but 20g will get you off to a flying start. See under low carb chat the listing for Favourite Self Education finds...🌸

  • Put in your info, choose keto. It will give you your macros. The carbs should be under 20

  • Joanna  I think you mean 20 NET carbs.

  • 8274b692 you may count net, I prefer total - who says fibre is calorie free? I don’t count calories or macros only my carbohydrates so keeping under 20g total has enabled me personally to be currently only 4lbs to goal 💃🏻 Keto is designed to be reasonably flexible to each individual - it is the absence of carbohydrates that keeps me in ketosis.

  • I'm set for 1,200 calories, 15 net carbs / 30 total. Some fiber is indigestible and has no calories. Some fiber is soluble and has about two calories per gram. Fiber is important to your gut health. Here's an informative article. https://fiberfacts.org/fibers-count-calories-carbohydrates/
