Keto flu on day 1?
I just started keto today. I’ve eaten almost all my macros ( I have a small snack of half cup of strawberries and cream for later) but I’m feeling really lightheaded and my stomach hurts. I took a salt pill and just downed some zero calorie Gatorade. Can you get the keto flu this bad on day the first day? I’m sure the carb fest I had last night prior to starting the diet isn’t helping.

How are you feeling today? Keto flu usually sets in within 24-48 hours. To get through it, I allowed myself to eat a little more protein/fat that day without going way overboard. I ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I snacked on almonds and olives. I drank two powerade zero's and I took it easy - no working out. You need to drink A LOT of water. I easily drank a gallon a day for the first week. I felt completely better by day 3. You can get through it!

Sounds like your body is going through a bad case of the detox, especially if you’re body wasn’t already used to it.
When I restarted Keto I was feeling fatigue, body aches, and headaches. It lasted about a week unfortunately. My body wasn’t used to the sugar and caffeine being cut out so quickly and my carb intake dropping drastically.

Sodium, potassium and magnesium are needed every day. No keto flu here but I can tell if my electrolytes are off. Dry mouth, headache, fatigue means up my sodium. If I start to feel my heartbeat or get leg cramps then up my potassium. All 3 are important and not an option if you're doing Keto with 20g total carb restriction.

cherconway we can't get enough from foods unfortunately. I take 2 tsp sodium, 1/2 tsp No Salt -which is potassium and 800mg of magnesium Glycinate every day. Never had keto flu. I take more salt during summer if sweating etc. Dry mouth means more salt, feeling my heartbeat means I need more potassium.
