Who eats fruit?

I have been doing keto for a month tomorrow, and it's working pretty well. I miss the occasional Apple or banana though. Does anyone who has been doing it for a while eat fruit? I try to stay under 30 net carbs a day.

I'm still limiting my carbs to 20g a day so I'm not eating fruit. I do occasionally have a quarter cup frozen blueberries with a couple of tablespoons of heavy whipping cream poured over them (the cream freezes to the berries, so cool), no sweetener. And I had some strawberries at a potluck.

You have more leeway at 30g net carbs. If you aren't worried about setting off your sweet tooth, go for it.

One thing I'm learning, though, is true moderation. At one point, that would have meant me eating just one apple, LOL, but now (well, when I start integrating more fruit into my diet), if I wanted an apple I would ask my kid if she'd like to split one with me. 😀

Joyful  I'm doing 30 net carbs because I work out 4-5 times a week, and just don't have much energy if I eat less. I always end up going over my fat and sometimes my protein though. But I probably wouldn't even eat a whole apple if I had one.

stacemont it doesn’t really matter about going over fat & protein the latter only but all the more so, if you are working out. I don’t eat fruits yet but nearer to goal, berries will definitely be back 😋 I have sugar carb addiction and can’t even contemplate alcohol as I cannot tell you how many times starting drinking and lead me to an eating avalanche! we are each different and therefore foods that knock you out of ketosis will vary too.

  • I never was a big fruit lover so not eating fruits is no worries for me. In the summer I'll splurge and have a little watermelon

Joanna Well I was thinking that too about the fat and protein  but went over several times this week and haven't lost this week, I'm on track to lose 2 lbs a week. I'm going to really watch it this week., I have been under carbs all week. I can tell the difference when I exercise, my muscles feel fatigued.

I'm doing 20 carbs a day.  On the day I have 5 or more carbs left I have some raspberries or some type of berry.  I crave an occasional sweet something so I might put it in my mouth and savor it.  or eat a few like a 1/4 cup and the craving is gone.  Diet soda helps a sweet craving also.

    stacemont

just read from another poster that too much protein will turn to sugar. I hit a plateau and I think that’s what happened to me. Back on track thanks to her post.
