7th day in no weight loss

Hey guys! This is my first time starting keto and each day so far I’ve seen some weight loss. Today I didn’t loose any weight. I’m sticking to the macros tho I am having trouble eating as much protein fat and calories as it suggest. Just want to see if this is all normal or if I need to change something. I’ve been drinking almost a gallon of water a day too

  • yes. I have lost 30-35 pounds since January. Sometimes I stay stuck at the same weight for days, even though I am doing everything perfectly. Then I loose several pounds all of a sudden. So I think it is just the body readjusting and redoing things ... muscle weighs more than fat. So it might be that you're losing fat but gaining muscle.

  • Katsandplants I just started too about two weeks ago. I just had my time of the month and the scale went up! Obviously I'm not freaking out yet. Lol I also am having a hard time to get to my fat and protein. Give yourself time to figure it all out. Its definitely not easy like some make it seem. I do know on days when I have bullet proof coffee its easier to reach my goals of fat. I wouldn't worry about not reaching carbs?? That's my take anyway. Get as close as you can and watch some YouTube videos. They are very helpful!

  • Saramcg921 you know what, I’m pretty close to my time of the month too! That’s a good point. I was able to get my fat and protein and calories up a bit yesterday and actually dropped a little weight! I never have a problem meeting the cab goal 😝 trying to stay under it is the trouble but I’m pretty good

Katsandplants when I am menstruating, I can gain up to 8 lb! It is so frustrating! Hopefully that’s your hold-up. 😊

Remember that hitting the carb number is NOT a goal! lol. It's a limit, so aim to keep it as low as possible without being obsessive.

Also, for those of you finding it hard to get your protein up, I was too and then got some collegen powder with MCT in it from Perfect Keto (though there are other brands!) Adding one heaping scoop to my morning coffe and boom! I think its 19 g of protein in one fell swoop.  It also makes my black coffee nice and creamy, I love it.

An often overlooked measure while on keto is total calories consumed each day.  Adjusting your macro percentages in Carb Manager while observing a total calorie limit helped me see reductions in weight and appearance.  Some exercise also helps.  Simply walking 40-60 minutes 3-4 times a week helps to accelerate weight loss.  If you have a fitness tracker watch that can integrate into Carb Manager, total NET calories will be calculated for you. There have been days where I have engaged in intense exercise burning between 500-800 calories which brought my total NET calories below 1,000 for the day.  It's been 55 days since I started keto and I've lost 21 lbs. I have 4 more to hit my goal.  Oh, and logging your meals and snacks is an absolute must. Sometimes its a pain but you have to log meals otherwise its too easy to cheat.

You are probably losing inches. Not Weight. drink water to conquer thirst only.. its making you full. Dont worry about the fat so much. You dont have to meet any of the goals. They are guidelines.  Fat is there to make you full. You dont want to be hungry. You will know when you are comfortable with protein and fat. Carbs should be 20 and under. Dont worry so much about the numbers just what you are eating. try harder for proteins and eat fat to fill you.

Start fasting. When I don’t lose weight I fast for half the day then eat a very small carb lunch to hold me until dinner. Make sure you fats are higher than protein

I have lost 100 as of today. Stay the course. You WILL go through periods where you don’t lose weight, but may be losing inches.  Wait Six weeks before concluding your in a stall.  Good luck!

Shiggy great feedback & congrats. So when you exercise do you add more food because the calorie count is lower? Do you let it deduct macros for exercise as well? I'm stalled. Today for example my pre rationed calorie count is 1200. I did 530 calories in exercise so now at 670. I want to eat more, yet at the same time want to loose weight. Unsure if eating more will allow my body to not hold onto weight or if I should go to bed a little hungry. Wouldn't it just be better than to ration daily calories (such as my scenario) to 1000 per day then.

I started keto beginning of June. Had lost 9 pounds on low calorie but couldn't sustain it, so switched to keto. Lost 5 more pounds right away, then stayed at same weight for six weeks, but didn't gain any back (hooray). Just last week, finally lost another 3 pounds. As others have said, it takes a while for the body to reset its systems I think.

carrianne I try not to consume more calories on days that I exercise since I want to create a net calorie deficit and hopefully accelerate weight loss.  The benefit of exercise is that it will increase your metabolism temporarily, the degree to which is dependent on the intensity of the exercise.  Note that intense exercise is very difficult while in ketosis hence my recommendation for walking.   Alternatively, you could reduce calories to 1,000/day, as you stated. It's really up to you.  I do prefer to go to bed a bit hungry on an empty stomach, also.
