Keto Grade Confusion!

Why is it that single foods can be grade A, but putting them together in a recipe makes the prepared food a grade B or C?  I can't find an answer so I apologise if this has been addressed somewhere.....

Is it because for the recipe, you need to specify so much more? Like 12x for a muffin recipe, for example? Or do you mean the “muffin” is a B or C? I’d guess it’s due to all the ingredients taken together. If it’s within your macros, I wouldn’t worry about it.

  • I have even found instances where all ingredients are grade A and the prepared food is grade F. I would also like to know why this is the case.

  • Funny, I have a recipe that is the other way around. For my morning smoothie, the protein mix is an F, but the recipe is an A. I wondered the same thing. How does that work?

  • I'm guessing that all the foods combined might be over your carb limit?  Or serving size is off as mentioned above.
