Enough Fat

Hi, I’m TJ. I started keto yesterday. My carbs and protein are good but I have been low on fats. Can anyone recommend tasty fats one can eat to achieve the daily amount?

Hi TJ ~welcome, in the first 2 weeks ANY fat! Fry your bacon, then eggs in the bacon fat, mushrooms in butter. Olive oil, Avocado Oil, Keto mayo, all fat on meat, grated Parmesan on top.... coconut oil,  add fats to anything, after 6 weeks I’ve lost 19lbs, my cholesterol levels are down & my Dr smiled! I am sure others will be along to add other fats 😋

Olives, double (heavy) cream ~ fry your steak, pork  or whatever, rest on a warm plate, pour black peppercorns into meat juices, add some heavy cream, whisk briskly for 30 seconds & pour onto your meat 😋

Hi TJ ! Totally agree with IsabeausRose and Joanna  here. I’ve been using quite a bit of coconut oil to sauté/fry most everything. Avocados,  macadamia and Brazil nuts tho they add  a few  carbs. Also mostly dairy for me since don’t eat meats - cream, cheese, sour cream, butter etc.

Joanna aahhhhh. I love to sauté shrimps in garlic infuses butte with oils and then at the end add a dash of heavy cream with Lemmon juice. Plate of a cup of wilted greens in butter or Brussel sprouts cooked in butter. Add some quality aged white cheese on top after you have slid that shrimp goodness on top of those greens. I died and went to heaven when I ate that.

Butter butter butter. Dip all meats in melted butter. Best ever. Can spice up that butter with different seasonings to keep it interesting. I have no issues gobbling up multiple tablespoons in a days worth of meals. Also. I did purchase quality avacado oil.  I have to say really tasty. Just sprinkle on everything.

Oh yeah. Don't forget real Mayo. Look for lowest sugar /carb or make your own. Great in a hurry if you want a hotdog also. I dip burger and steak in that and a dish of butter. Also. Find your favorite creamy dressing. I can honestly say we have lighthouse brand bluecheese dressing. I can dip just about anything in that. I have made home made ceasor and bluecheese dressing and are finaminal.

  •  Do you know about bullet proof coffee? It's amazing. Put a cup of hot coffee into a container with 1 tablespoon butter, unsalted, preferably grass fed, plus a tablespoon of coconut oil or MCT oil. Blend. Drink. Amazing! The fat will meet your requirement and keep you full for hours.
