Current weight 244lbs!
Goal: 200lbs (for now 🙂)
I’m not gonna lie these first weeks are really tough specially for someone who’s never dieted before. I still have lots of cravings but I know it’s all in my head because my stomach is full. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me I really want to make this my life style #Forever

5’6” age: 54, married with 2 university aged kids
Jan 8/18: 198 lbs (start)
Mar 28/18: 178 lbs (-20!)
Goal: 148 lbs
I seem to be dropping 5 lbs every 3 weeks. I finally feel like I am back in control! Donated 4 pairs of fat jeans already!
My daughter’s convocation is in June, so my goal is to be down another 20 by then! Goals are good!
I should mention that my husband fully supports this new way of eating and has dropped 18 pounds! He is at his goal weight now, so adds back enough carbs so as not to lose any more weight.

Started February 1 at 94kg. (207lb). Today I weigh 79.7. (174lb)
i am 50 yrs old and had lost counting calories first but was 104 kg then and got all the way to 83kg with calories and being careful of fat. I became ravenous and ate my way back up to 94kg again. It took me 2 years to get to 83kg and I was ashamed I had failed once again. I then ended up in hospital for the umpteenth time after collapsing, something I had been doing frequently but doctors found nothing wrong with me and kept saying my symptoms were all in my head. Finally after suffering what seemed like symptoms of MS and having lumbar punctures and brain scans I was put on the treadmill. It was finally discovered I had been born with a heart defect! 50 yrs later and 4 pregnancies and yo-yo weight but I’m still alive 😂. So that was December. January I discovered IF and Dr Fung. Read heaps. February I discovered diet doctor and began fasting every day for 23 hrs plus eating low carb. My cardiologist was amazed at my weight loss and other cardiologists at the clinic are now fasting to see what happens. I was a NZ size 20. Now size 12. I believe in America that’s a size 8. I haven’t finished. I am aiming to get to 75kg.

PS I fairly regularly have a “free day.” That’s when carbs don’t matter and I may eat whatever I please. Three days ago I ate three enormous ic creams in a cone, two date scones and two large pieces of Home made chocolate cake and a plate of nachoes. Next day I was up a kilo. I fasted 36 hours (sweatless for me now😄) and was straight back down a kg. I do not recommend this kind of thing, for some people it could be disastrous. Perhaps it will be for me at some stage. But though I expected “days off” may become uncontrolled and lead to my eating becoming unrestrained again, it has not. I do not get crazy out of control the way I once did. I don’t desire sweets and rubbish in the way I used to. I actually crave green salad! 😂. Keto is really amazing and has changed my life. Fasting has given me control also to be able to feast on occasion (I don’t mean every week either) and then get straight back to my pre feast weight. I found researching “bright lines very very helpful.

5'-3". F/47 yrs.
Starting Weight (3/30/18): 182
CW (4/6/18): 177
GW: 128
The first few days, I was ravenous. I don't eat meat or fowl and it was a big struggle to get enough calories without eating too many net carbs. I wasn't sure if I was in ketosis, but after checking with the urine strips, I'm definitely there. I'm struggling to figure out what I can eat and getting all the unusual, new ingredients in the house, but I feel optimistic the diet will get easier when I have a better understanding of where carbs are and what recipes work for me. I don't have that "Wow I'm so mentally clear and have tons of energy!" feeling I've heard about, and I'm hungry often. I hope things get better. I need change and I want to be thin again. -
Hi, I am new to Keto but have been on it for 8 days. Beginning at 210 with a goal of 125. First few days were AWFUL! Felt terrible, coughing, sneezing achy etc. But by day 5 was feeling better. Down 6 lb so far, but my big fear is work! I work in food service and have food around me all day. So thank you for this forum - I will be acountable!

SW: 425 lbs
GW: 145 lbs
CW: 370 lbs
My highest weight was 425 lbs. I was 415 lbs in April of 2017. In August of 2017, I was 404.8 lbs, and that is when I discovered a diet that I thought would be a miracle for me. I tried the "Shangri-La" diet for almost 3 months. I was able to get my weight down to 374 lbs, and then during the Thanksgiving and winter holidays, I had a number of stressors enter my life which made me stop dieting completely. I got back up to 401 lbs as of March 24th, 2018, and I was really sad about that. I re-started that "Shangri-La"diet, and managed to reduce myself back down to 386 as of April 11th, 2018.
This is when I found Keto!
I officially started Keto on April 12th, 2018. As of that date:
SW: 386 lbs
GW: 145 lbs
CW: 370 lbs
I'm 5'8". My clothes are already fitting better. My feet are slimmer. I've got loads of energy, and I'm feeling like a success!

smokeandmirrors42026dde4 Hello you have done a great job. I am just starting as of yesterday. Question: I am sure you have had your LDL and HDL checked many times. Since on Ketosis diet how have your numbers reacted. That has been one of my concerns with a high fat low carb diet. 71, 249, looking to lose 50 lbs.

lanememory4c02 Hello, I can tell you I have been on the diet for 9 months. I am 73, 5’7” and very sedentary as a result of foot and back surgery plus a little laziness-truth be told. I started at 230 lbs and have lost 35 lbs so far. I have had a comprehensive lipid panel done 3X already plus tryglicerides and everything is well within normal limits. My HbA1c has come down to 5.7 - I would like it lower. So as of today I am eliminating artificial sweeteners. Let’s see what happens

Tom Hello, I started Saturday 5th, at 249.5 now 244.5. I used the test strips and I am a trace level of ketosis only. I am walking over 10,000 steps a day with my fitbit sync with carb manager. Not eating bread, pasta, no starch. Chicken, lean steak, some fish, cottage cheese with strawberry or blue berries 1 cup cottage cheese that is. started drink 8 oz of almond milk with perfectketo powder for one meal or twice a day. mixed salads, advocado, fresh pasture eggs with pesto an onion. My weight loss seems to be dramactically slower then yours. My target weight is 200 right now, 71 years old. Any thoughts what I am doing wrong.
